How Do I Love Thee...

Let me count the ways....literally! :P Okay, I really really really love Cosmo Cricket. If you know me, and you know my scrapbooking, you know this. Here is living proof of the fact. This is about HALF of my CC stash. ((blush)) (and ahem, let's hope Steve doesn't peek at this and see how much I really have!)
Cosmo Cricket is having a Design Team call. I have been waffling back and forth on whether I should apply or not. I've never tried out for a manufacturer DT. Mostly because there are so few that I could see myself always loving their product. I always love CC!! So, I've decided (at 11pm 2 days before the call is over) that if you don't try you'll never know. At the very least maybe someone from Cosmo is going to look at my blog!
Soooo...now I'm offline for the next 24 hours as I go through my online galleries, my scrapbook, and my card collections to see what I can come up with to submit. Maybe I'll even have a chance to make a little something new..."Early Bird" is calling my name... :)
Check back on July 1st and see what I've come up with! Wish me LUCK!

Wanna win some stamps???

I seriously love this set from My Stamp Box! Go comment on their blog before the end of the month and have a chance to win a set!! http://mystampbox.com/blog/

Carter's Big Boy Bike!

Carter has been asking for a "Big Boy" Bike, so the other day we picked one up for him. We took it out for the inagural spin this morning (in the Exelixis parking lot where it's nice and flat)

Here he is getting on - it's pretty high, but he can do it! Daddy helping to get going...
All by himself!!!
Oops...the first spill. Got right up and back on though!

I love my big boy bike!

500 visits!

Blogcounter emailed me at 6:47 that I had 500 visitors to my blog. Guess who that 500th visitor was?? My very own sister - who even left a comment. :)
I'll be sending you a little something Nancy!

I'll do another RAK at 1000 visits! :)

Kickin It Old School!

Literally! ;)

Today is my 5th Wedding Anniversary! Happy Anniversary Steve! I love you so much! XO

I was going to post a few photos from our wedding, but in the move last fall I can't find our CD of photos anywhere! Got to keep looking!

So, instead, you get a look at the scrapbooked layouts! These layouts are just about 5 years old! I still like them overall, but it's interesting to see how my style has changed over the years.

10 visits to go...

I have had 490 blog hits as of right now! :)

I will give away a little RAK (random act of kindness) to one blog reader when I get to 500 visits. However, unless you leave a comment I won't know you were here!

The First Day of School...

Sniff sniff...my baby is old enough to go to school!!! Tuesday was his very first day going all alone! He was pretty excited - I think mostly because he finally got to use the new Thomas backpack we bought him for school! He didn't even look back walking into the classroom - just ran up and starting painting. I couldn't even get a kiss out of him!
The mommies (and poor Noah who wasn't quite old enough to go to school yet) decided to celebrate their first day with brunch and shopping on Burlingame Avenue. Here we are at Crepevine. Susannah, Noah, Tami, and Gina.
I went back at noon for Carter, and was sad to hear that I was missed after all! He apparently spent a good 20minutes crying for me. Once the water table came out he forgot all his woes and actually wasn't all that excited for me to come back! LOL
I wondered how things would go this morning when I dropped him off for the second day (he goes T/W/Th 9-12). It was a smooth dropoff with no tears....so we'll see how he did at noon!

Mmmm - Cupcakes!

I saw a photo of these cute "burger" cupcakes on Elsie's blog last week, and couldn't resist trying them. They are VERY labor intensive! I will not be attempting these again. They also don't look quite as cute completed as the originals did. But...they ARE yummy!

An update for Nancy...

I see your comments about the Magic Bullet. Sad sad story! :(

We opened it up this afternoon, and took a look. It obviously had been used - and not just used, used to chop garlic, and then not properly cleaned. YUCK! So, off to return it to Costco we went. Returned it just fine, but saw the line and decided to come back another day to get a new one!

So...we haven't tried it out yet. I am feeling a bit guilty since it was Steve's big gift and he was excited to try it out. Who would have known!!

....and a note to all my blog readers. I'm about 50 visits away from 500 visitors!! Awesome! Remember I'm giving away a RAK to celebrate the 500th visitor. Unless you leave comments though, I won't know who you are! I love comments, so why don't you leave me one!

Our Family!

Here we are - getting ready to go out for dinner on Father's Day. We didn't actually go anywhere super fancy (Sam's Chowder House in HMB), but it was fun to wear some nice clothes...and a good chance to take a family photo!

In other news...

My Design Team supplies for A Page In Time arrived yesterday! I am sooooo excited! I'm not sure if I'm allowed to spill the beans on what's inside yet, but believe me you will want these kits for your summer vacation pages!

You get 3 kits for under $30! Double sided papers, a few embellies, and a design team full of ideas of what to do with them!

Subscribe here, or come join us on the message board to say hello :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Especially to my own Dad, and to my DH Steve - the best daddies in the world! :)

Here's a photo of Carter and Daddy together. Carter made Father and son matching tees with paint and stamps. It was messy, but they turned out cute! Steve's says "World's Best Dad" and Carter's "World's Best Son". He also gave Steve the new ballcap he's sporting. Here's a closeup of Carter's handiwork!
I got Steve a "Magic Bullet", which he has been wanting to muck around with for several years! ;) I have been promised a margarita made with it tonight! Yum! Whether that's a good idea or not remains to be seen. Steve's back is still super sore since he hurt it Friday, so he's on Vicodin and Valium for the pain. I've caught Carter's cold and am hyped up on cold meds. Wish us a speedy return to good health! :)

TGIF and October Afternoon love!

Oops...it's Friday. I went all week without an update. Sorry, it's been a long one! Carter's still sick and on antibiotics, I'm trying to fight off a cold, and then yesterday we spent 4 hours in the emergency room! Steve picked up Carter in the morning and heard an audible CRACK in his back and then couldn't move. *Luckily* once the initial pain wore off nothing is broken. He just tore some ligaments and is still in a lot of pain. He's on Extra strength Motrin, Valium, and Vicodin for the pain. :(

I've also had a busy week. The Mother's Club is running the concession stand for the next two weeks, so I've taken my turns at working it, childcare for others working it, grocery shopping, making signs etc. We've also done quite well at supporting it financially ;). Carter looooves the candy!

Here's what could definitely perk up my weekend! A giveaway from October Afternoon. I am a HUGE fan of their products, (hoping to hit up the LSS this weekend to get some new Cherry Hill!). They have a wonderful new travel line out, which of course I need! Check it out! Link up your blog and get a chance to win!

Here's a little October Afternoon love for you! Some of my recent LO's made with their product!
This is my faaaaavorite line from them. I adore the little monsters. I am hoarding this paper like crazy. It's perfect to scrap the antics of one little monster who lives here. I NEEED the stamps that go with this line, but sadly I can't find them anywhere. A RAK to anyone who finds them online at a good price! ;)
I think I posted this one on here before. I love it though, so you get a 2nd look! Our new home on moving day last October. This one is an older layout. This is the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel in Vegas - as seen from our room across the street at the Paris Hotel. It was a pretty sweet view. (and the photo wasn't half bad considering I took it out the window at night!)

Takin' It Easy...

I took Carter to the doctors this morning since he was feeling ill most of the weekend. He had a fever, but overall I just figured it was a bad cold and they'd send us home with instructions to rest up. Nope, poor guy was suffering with a double ear infection and a case of Bronchitis! Good thing is, looks like he's not infectious (anymore...I am hoping to ward off the illness myself).

This photo is another of my favorites from the picnic last week. He and his friend Andy were lounging in Andy and his sisters' chairs. I turned my back for a minute, and he really took the "lounging" to a whole new level!

Going for it...

These photos of Carter from New Years Eve last year just crack me up! Carter had been eyeing these tacky sunglasses in the $bins at Target for weeks, and I finally broke down and bought them - of course considering the scrappiness of the potential photo I could get! I put them away, and gave them to him on NYE. My mom had the crown, and broke out the blowers. The kid put the whole get-up on himself, and boy did it make for a cute photo op! :)I was anxious to scrapbook them right away, but the cuteness of them made me want to get my LO "just so". This week I saw a new sketch site posted on Jemma's blog, and I figured I'd take a look. The sketch just happened to go well with the photos and the papers I'd chosen for these pics, and the whole layout came together in less than 30minutes! I liked it so much I decided to throw my hat in the ring for the DT call as well. I love working with sketches, so this would be right up my alley...wish me luck!

You can check out the new sketch blog here: http://www.twistedsketches.com/

Preschool Picnic!

Yesterday was the Calvary Preschool year end picnic. It wasn't actually a very nice day for a picnic (cold and windy), but the kids had a great time. Carter came home and took a 2.5 hr nap!

Here are a few photos from the day:

Carter playing in the bark with the trucks - he did that for almost 45mins!
Hotdogs for lunch! Mmmm...hotdogs! I looooove hotdogs! LOL
This HAD to be the highlight of the day - serve your own lemonade. Carter caught onto this waaaay too fast for Mommy's liking!
Carter with his preschool buds - Brooke and Bernard. Eating lunch, and being silly!
Sliding at the park. Climb, slide, repeat...he loved this!
Picking flowers for Mommy. Thanks Carter!
Only another 10 days or so and the summer preschool program starts. Carter will be going by himself to preschool now that he is over the minimum 2yrs/9mos. Previously it was more of a playgroup where I stayed. He is quite excited to go, and even more excited that he has a brand new Thomas backpack to take with him. I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few tears on that first day alone though (from Carter AND me!) ;)

San Bruno Posy Parade 2009!

This has been a crazy week! My parents were here visiting from Canada, and we just seemed to go go GO! Finally getting around to downloading the hundreds of photos we took, and just relaxing a bit in general. It was a good week though, and we had tons of fun!

The highlight of the week was Sunday's Posy Parade in San Bruno. The Mother's Club I belong to decided to participate this year and build our own float! We had a big float buliding party on Friday night, and then marched in the parade on Sunday. The big excitement was that we actually won for our float! It was chosen as 2nd place! :)

Here's a few photos from the day!
Carter and Sean waiting for the parade to start!
Jenny and I posing with the new SBMC banner!
The crew marching in the parade!
Carter and Sean in the wagon during the parade Being monkeys... :)
The float made it to the end of the parade in one piece! It was WINDY!
The trophy we won!
