I made these cute treats for Carter's teachers. I bought little boxes of chocolate and covered them with Halloween papers by Making Memories. Enjoy!

A few creations...
I forgot to show these from last month...some Design work I did for A Page In Time!
and secondly, some cheery Halloween cards made with Echo Park paper.Busy Saturday!
Daddy was still feeling sick today, so the entertainment was up to Mommy today. We started off the day at the San Bruno Prudential Pumpkin Patch. Carter had a fun time and came home loaded down with a huge pumpkin, candy, popcorn, and a donut. Can we say sugar high?! Here he is in their pumpkin patch.
Then we headed over to John Muir School for their annual Halloween carnival. Time to burn off the sugar!
He made a really cute pumpkin that looked like a cat - soooo proud of it!
We played some games, and Carter did the cake-walk twice...and won both times! We came home with a lot of yummy cupcakes! Then we headed home to enjoy a rainy afternoon at home.
About 6pm (before dinner!) this is Carter...
Didn't even wake up when we tried to rouse him...
The red spot on his cheek is from lying ever so comfortably on a toy motorcycle!
Steve and I had dinner, cleaned up...and now it's coming up on 7:30. He's still asleep on the couch!
Preschool Halloween Social
Friday night was Carter's preschool Halloween Ice Cream Social. Carter was super excited to go, and counted down the minutes all day long! Daddy was not feeling well, so Mommy and Carter had a date night! Here we are, ready to GO!
Carter greeting a few friends...and comparing costumes. The "Ham" face - he was so proud to find a GREEN pumpkin
The somewhat nicer pose!
Carter and Brooke still going strong! They look sooo much bigger since last year!
Doing crafts with Ema and Vivianna
Mmm...ice cream!
Writing his name on his craft
playing with Brooke's little sister, Jade. He was really making her giggle.

It was a really fun night!

Carterism...
Sunday morning I asked Carter what he wanted for breakfast. He is currently OBSESSED with bacon...so of course he said:
"BACON!"
Me: Sorry, Carter - we don't have any bacon.
Carter: Umm, okay, I'll have a ham sandwich then.
I have no idea where that came from since I don't think he's ever had a ham sandwich. However, I guess it can be said - the kid loves pork products. (Unlike his mom...who will eat bacon, but that's about it)
Sadly, he had to settle for cereal, a mini bagel, and banana.

Super excited!
I just checked Tara's blog and found out I won a RAK from her - some fun scrappy bling! Who wouldn't love it! Thanks Tara!
Check out her blog - she has some awesome challenges and prizes to be won. Best of all - tons of cool inspiration!

Some fun scrappy things...
Check out this cool Autumn Banner I made!
I used the Ambrosia paper line by Basic Grey and some super cute ribbon I found at Michaels to tie it all together. Added a little bling and some leaf shaped buttons...and tada!
Even cooler is that I found a purpose for these...
I've seen these ugly chipboard coasters at Michaels for months now - bins and bins of them. The other day I was there and had some inspiration. I used them as the background shapes for the banner. Just cut my circles to the same shape...and voila - 6 chipboard pieces precut for $1. I think I have to go back and get more...you know...before they sell out! ;P

A Visit to the FireHouse
The Pacifica Fire Department was having an Open House today, and we KNEW Carter would want to go. This morning we had a birthday party to go to. We were done there in time (and Carter was still in a good enough mood) that we decided to go catch the very tail end of the event. Carter has a BLAST!
Here he in driving the Engine...
The firefighters gave us a tour of the whole firehouse - then we went to the back where they did a mock rescue.
Then they showed us how to properly use a fire extinguser and safely put out a fire.
After that the kids got to try out the hose. Carter was sooo excited! He tried to knock over two pylons with the spray - and did it. He sort of wanted to use the hose to wash all the cars...but alas, he got denied!
Picking up the pylons for the next kid.
Standing on front of the truck. He looks a little tentative here...and he was. He was worried he wasn't supposed to stand there.
Overall, we had a great time and I think Carter learned a lot about Fire Safety. He still tells us daily that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. He listened quite intently to everything the firefighters had to say. In fact, there were quite a number of kids that were not very well behaved there, and Carter was soooo annoyed at them when he couldn't hear. (In fact, so was I!)

Busy Friday!
This morning we went to Arata's Pumpkin Farm in Half Moon Bay with the Mom's Club. I tried to get a cute pic of Carter sitting on a pumpkin...ugh..tough one! The fall Carter turned one we have an adorable photo of him on a pumpkin. I tried to recreate the event. Guess he was too distracted to sit overall. I did get some
sweet ones today though...
Later in the afternoon, we had soccer class. This first pic is of their very first attempt at a game!
Silly shot!
I told him this was a bad idea, but he didn't listen...so I took a pic instead! I just crack up looking at it (no pun intended) ;)

Woot!!
I'm super duper excited! A few weeks ago I was shopping at Shutterfly and an opportunity came up to apply to host a holiday "house party". I figured, hey - why not, and submitted my name.
Last week I got a reminder about the fact I had applied - no actual info, just a reminder and some basic info. I was a little bummed when I saw their House Party weekend is the first weekend in November. Not a good weekend for us. I figured c'est la vie - I probably won't get chosen anyways.
Well, today I get an email - I DID get chosen. What are the odds?! (Actually, they gave away 3000 parties - but apparently there were a lot more entries). When I read the fine print it stated I could host the party whenever..so, I accepted and it's ON! Woot!! :) I decided to have a Shutterfly/holiday/birthday celebration all in one!
The hardest part is narrowing down the guest list. Shutterfly is generously donating coupons, coupon codes, and a photo book for up to 14 people. Each person goes home with over $50 worth of stuff! Exciting!
If you're not familiar with Shutterfly, I highly recommend you check them out. Excellent prices, great deals, good service, and very decent product (obviously they don't do individual color correcting etc, but for the every day - you can't beat it). I love Shutterfly for all these reasons as well as the fact that you can upload all your pics there and they store them (at original resolution size) forever. Awesome! A great way to store and share pics! Check them out! http://www.shutterfly.com/

Lemos Farm!
My little Pumpkin!
Today I took Carter to visit Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay. We went there last year, and had a good time - but we went right before Halloween and it was sooo busy! Long lines for everything. Today hosted great weather and NO people. There was hardly anyone there. We walked onto all the rides, and got extra long turns (he got 3 separate 10+min rides on the ponies!). The perfect day to go!

Carter's friends Brooke and Joey joined us for the trip - the kids had tons of fun!
On the hayride - we were the only ones on the train and the hayride - pretty sweet!
