A day at Baker Beach...

Since my sister is visiting, I thought it might be a good time to head down to the beach and take some family photos. This is a great beach with a view of the Golden Gate...it was a nice day, and fairly uncrowded. PERFECT for photo taking!

Got the family decently dressed up for a family photo, and after several tries...we got this one! Good stuff! Here's me and my sister!
Then Nancy snapped away with the camera as we headed down the beach for a few more pics...
We stood here, right at the waters edge for several minutes. Carter loved watching the waves roll in...notice, we're a safe distance back from getting wet.
OR WERE WE???! After standing in the exact same spot for a while, all of a sudden a HUGE wave washed up and got us SOAKING WET! The weight of the water even pushed Carter down! (You gotta love the look on Steve's face!)
You can tell just how big of a swell it is, by the photo...we would have been wet regardless!
Of course, our cocky photographer was standing there snapping away giggling to herself she was dry...but alas, it even reached her!
It was a long soggy ride home! :)

Cards!

A few more projects from my Design Team kit over at a A Page in Time! Two cards - one made with the new My Mind's Eye Life Stories collection, and the other from their Spellbound collection.

Long time, no post!

It's been a busy week!

We've been busy looking at houses - starting to think about moving! My sister is here for two weeks! Thanksgiving is next week, as is my birthday...and life is moving fast!

Here are a couple of Carterisms from the week:

1. Yesterday I picked him up from school and he had a drawing he'd done in his hands. He gives it to me, and I unfold it. It says at the bottom (written by a teacher):

"This is a picture of a daisy I drew for my mom for her birthday. I'm giving it to Auntie Nancy"

2. Also, at preschool...they asked the kids last week who was in their family. Then they printed all the responses and posted them on the bulletin board. Most of the kids said "mom and dad etc" My kids says:

"Brooke is in my family. My mom and dad too. Also, you teacher Tracey...JUST you"
(Brooke is his best friend, and Tracey is his favorite teacher of the three in the class!)

WHAT A KID!!! ((eyeroll))

Family!

I am really enjoying the nice warm sun here in California today. My long years of living in cold snowy winters has made me appreciate nice days all the more. I'm sitting here on November 2nd in shorts. Love it!!

Here's a layout I finished last week I didn't share here yet. I think I have to scan it...the pic is a bit washed out. But you get the idea...Love these papers!

Halloween...part the LAST!

Wow, it was a looooong week of Halloweening here. Starting about 10 days ago with the pumpkin patch, endless parties, and ending with Trick or Treating! I knew we were a little Halloween'd out when Carter asked me at several events "is it Halloween NOW?". LOL. Can't blame the kid!

Anyways, we had a great time last night. It was one of those on again, off again things with all the kids being sick...but everyone ended up being healthy for the big night! Whew! Carter's friend Joey and his parents asked us over for Trick or Treating and a pizza dinner. It was so nice since our street is a dead end for Halloween - no one comes, and no one goes out. Their neighborhood was hopping!

Here are the mommies hamming it up for the camera (or several cameras since we're all looking different ways!) Me, Susie, and Gina!
Arrrrrgggh mateys said the pirates!
Carter and I heading out...

Woohoo! Loot!
Sadly, I didn't get a really good pic of all 3 kids (Carter, Joey, and Brooke). Too busy watching and not enough photos (bad scrapbooker!)
Carter was really cute though. After every house he would park himself on the lawn and reach into the bag and see what he got. That lasted about 3-4 houses...and then he realized his friends were waaaay ahead of him so he sped up a bit.
We ended up going to about a dozen houses. Since not everyone was home though it was a bit more walking. The daddies were giving piggie-backs for the last leg!
We got home, and Carter is still sleeping off the excitement today. He's been fast asleep tonight since 7pm. He didn't even want to wait for pjs before hitting the hay...so he's down there sleeping fully dressed!

These are a few of my favorite things!!

I've been pretty lucky recently to have won some pretty cool prizes thanks to peoples blogs, message boards, and my online scrapbook friends.

I think it's time to Pay It Forward! :)

I'm giving away a RAK (random act of kindness). For every comment you make on my blog during the month of November, your name will go into a draw. On December 1st, I'll draw one name randomly to win a great prize from me!

Remember each time you make a comment your name will be entered again! :) If you become a follower of my blog your name will be entered an extra time! (You don't have to have a blog to become a follower - just a free google account)

The prize will include all my favorite scrapbooky things - stamps, embellishments, holidays items and more! :) I'll also include a handmade goodie in the parcel as well!

Good luck!
