Crafty Share!

I just remembered I hadn't shown off this little project yet!

A gift card holder that looks like a coffee cup! I give a LOT of Starbucks cards as gifts, and I thought this little pattern was super cute.

You pull the white "lid" up and inside you can attach your gift card and write a little sentiment!

I made two versions - one that says "Happy Birthday" and one that says "for you". Both versions made from textured cardstock and a stamped sentiment.

I'm planning on giving some as gifts, but I do have some for sale.
If you interested, 1 card + envelope is $4.50.

(And as always, I remind everyone - I have LOTS of ready-made cards for sale from $2-$6 and am always happy to do custom work for cards, invites, thank yous, anything!)

Pic from our weekend away!

We headed north to Tahoe Vista for the weekend with a ton of friends from the "Lix". It was a short weekend with a lot of driving (we left Friday at 2:30, got there at 7:30, and left again Sunday am!), but we had a great time. Carter thinks it was pretty much the best weekend ever...and already is asking how many days until we go again!

We rented a big 3 bedroom + loft house and it was nice to chill out and enjoy the people and the scenery. I was UBER devastated that the hottub on the deck was broken. I was looking forward to it being the highlight of the weekend. I was encouraged to drink a LOT of wine though and that dulled my disappointment slightly...LOL

Carter and Geoffrey doing what they do best - clung together over the iPad. We heard about 100 times on the weekend how cool Geoffrey's games are. Poor Logan looking on wondering why the kids would rather look at that than play with him. (Although I think he got really tired out when they DID play with him!)

Ready for the Snow Ball fight - striking a pose!

Logan pouted a bit because he had to stay inside during the fight. (There wasn't much snow, and what was there was rock hard ice, but he didn't believe me when I told him it was better inside).

Carter and Geoffrey built a snow-fort.

They had lots of fun ganging up on Uncle Matt!

Sunday morning we headed over to Northstar and looked at the village there. Swanky! Carter was in a mood for having his photo taken - hence all the big smiles and repetitive pics!

By the skating rink...

You can ski off the mountain right into the village. Carter thought that was COOL!

He loved his ice cream place with the cute chairs, and insisted on multiple photo ops.

Random...

My honey!

Me and my sweet baby boy! (Up until this moment - 5 minutes before we left, there were no photos taken of me all weekend)

Carter took a pic of Mommy and Daddy - not bad!

Being silly!

...and as expected, 5 minutes after we got on the road!

Video Fun!

Carter's at his ski lesson! Check out the photos below for a total recap!

Carter's first Skiing Lesson!

This weekend we were up in Tahoe and enrolled Carter in his very first skiiing lesson. He fell A LOT (to be expected I think), but he had a good time. By the end of the lesson he had mastered the "Magic Carpet" lift up the (small) hill, learned to pizza and slow to a stop, and also how to keep balanced and control his speed. His next lesson (date TBA...but probably a while into the future) he is excited to use the real chairlift and go down the big hill!

Getting ready in the kids club. Cute story - they wanted the kids to go in themselves and the instructors outfitted them with all their gear. Carter had snow pants, a jacket, mitts, etc to change into as well. When the lesson was done, he came running out carrying his pants (regular, not snow). He'd decided to not only wear the snowpants backwards all day (which I did notice, and wondered how comfy they were), but also to wear nothing underneath them! LOL. Good thing it was a nice warm day!

Heading out onto the hill - all the kids were holding a rope to climb up the incline by foot.

Got his skis on...first try!
Getting better as the day goes on...

Thumbs up to mom!

It took a lot of coaching to get him to remember "hands on your knees, knees bent!"

Forgot that already! Wipeout came shortly after this pic! He always sticks his tongue out when he's concentrating hard!

Matt and Bree standing to the right of this pic. Eric and Steve on the ground to the left.

Finally getting the idea!

Matt, Bree, Eric, and Steve heading to the lifts

Cheese!

Forgot about bending the knees, but a good "pizza"

Here he goes! The teacher called him a Speed Demon - he liked to get going FAST!

Wipeout!

Seriously LOVED the Magic Carpet...riding up to the top.

Waving from the Carpet

"Stop taking picture Mom!"

A pep talk!

This is by far my favorite photo! LOL (Another one where very shortly after he fell)

Steve showing off his boarding skillzzzz...off the snowboard!

A great day at Boreal!

Last Road Trip Post...

Some more photos from along the Columbia River Gorge. It was just about sunset when we reached the top and it was sooo pretty as dusk was falling.

Back on the road again as the sun goes down...

That night we ended up in Portland. Our hotel was a little less than stellar, but we had fun just driving around and looking at things. We had planned to take Carter on the aerial tram the next morning, but when we woke up it was super foggy, so we skipped it and hit the road...

Steve wanted to make a pit stop at Voodoo Doughnuts though - and it was worth it. Carter and Steve enjoyed a Bacon-Maple Doughnut. I went for the Portland Creme...mmm...it was good. We got a few more for the road - all tasty! My favorite was the cake doughnut with tang drink flavored icing!

After we left Portland, we stopped about halfway to Grants Pass - in Eugene, OR. We stopped at the university there - very pretty campus and decided to stretch our legs by looking at the Natural History Museum there. Carter wasn't very impressed. Everything was either boring or too scary for him. Then we happened upon the kids area and we had to drag him out of there! Here he is making a mask.

Back on the road and we spent the night in Grants Pass, OR. A really lovely spot! I love Oregon - I told Steve I'd move there in a second! No sales tax, beautiful landscape, nothing all squished together like it is here. I don't think we'll be moving there anytime soon though! LOL

When we got up the next morning we only had a few hours back to SF. We headed up the last big hill before we hit the CA border and came upon this...so pretty!

At the bottom the hill was the OR/CA border. We were surprised to get stopped at the border. Apparently CA has pretty strict import rules. We didn't have any fruits or wood with us though, so onward we went!

Mount Shasta from the road...another really pretty spot!

And finally....getting back home...heading onto the Bay Bridge!
We had a great trip, but overall it was really good to be home!
