WeScrap Challenge!

This is going to be FUN! Make sure to stop by and join the fun!! :)

Join the WeScrap iTeam all month long in July for a daily photography challenge.

Here's how to play along...
1. Each day a new prompt will be posted for you to see. This could be another inspiring photo by that day's iTeam member, a quote, a poem or just a simple question asked by one of our iTeam. You must then take a photo of something that the prompt has inspired you to take. The prompt is just a starting point for you to take photos so how you interpret the prompt is all yours.
2. You will have 48 hours to post your photo in the Fabulous Photos Contest gallery and then link your photo's thumbnail to the corresponding prompt for the day. You must also include with your photo, how that specific prompt inspired you to take the photo you did.

RULES:
1. All of your photos must be NEW! You cannot use previously taken photos. Remember.... the prompt can inspire you to take a photo of ANYTHING... even something inside your house!! NO OLD PHOTOS UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED!
2. All photos must be your own and must have been take by you or someone in your household.

PRIZES:
One randomly selected winner will win a gift certificate to spend in the WeScrap store.
One photograph will be chosen by the iTeam members as being the most inspirational and will also receive a gift certificate to spend in the WeScrap store.
Random RAKS may also be given out to participants by individual iTeam members throughout the month.

The contest will run everyday until the last day of July. Contest winners will be announced in early August.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! We can't wait to see what you capture!

Biking

It was so warm and sunny out today, we decided to go on a walk on the Bay Trail after dinner...and Carter rode his bike. Little guy is getting REALLY good on his bike. He's growing up so fast...

More Partying!

Sunday was Carter's good friend Joey's birthday party. We went to a fun party at Safari Run in San Mateo. I wasn't sure how Carter would like it. He's been known to climb to the top of things and then cry because he didn't know how to get down. LOL. He had a great time though...and got alll sweaty and worn out ;)

He had such a good time that when cake was served, I went to take a pic of him...and he was eating with his eyes closed. I guess a kid can only do so much partying! LOL

Party and a Sugar High!

We spent a nice relaxing day in Half Moon Bay on Saturday. We went out to celebrate Geoffrey's birthday and ended up partying for 6 hours! We all have fun, but Carter was in 7th heaven. There were toys, a bouncy house, a pinata, and best off a Candy Floss maker! To top that off, they had pizza, BIIIG pieces of cake, and Carter's all time favorite treat - root beer!

We had tons of fun and ate soooo much SUGAR! Carter crashed on the way home. He was munching on his THIRD piece of pizza when all of a sudden, he was out cold. Pizza just hanging from his hand. LOL

XO

Happy Anniversary to my sweet dear husband Steve. I love you! xoxo

Toy Story 3!

Tonight we took Carter to see Toy Story 3. He was really waiting for this one, and has been begging to go all week. This was his first REAL movie. He's been to a few cheap $1 ones at Tanforan, but this was out first family outing to the theatre. We got popcorn (well, Carter and Steve did...sigh), and Daddy even got an Icee to share as a special treat. The movie was great - although I was a little surprised at how many scary parts there were for kids. Had I known, we might have waited for DVD, but I think Carter enjoyed it anyways. I cried at the end! LOL

At home afterwards, he was tired - so he got on his Buzz pjs and grabbed Woody andWheezy.Sadly Wheezy the penguin never made an apperance in the film. He did get a mention, but wasn't seen. You may remember that a stuff Wheezy was Carter's #1 requested gift from Santa last Christmas!

Carter also threw out his best "To Infinity and BEYOND pose!"

Now I'm sure to be hounded daily about all the new things he NEEDS for his "Woody" bday party next month. LOL

WeScrap Sneak!

I got my lovely July kit from Wescrap yesterday! LOVE it! I already have two layouts done with plenty more supplies for more!

Here's a few sneaks! The full reveal to come!

Hop on over to Wescrap and join in the fun and challenges there...and be sure to reserve your copy of July's kit!

Father's Day!

We had a pretty uneventful Father's Day around here. Steve went biking in the morning, and Carter and I hung out at home and ran some errands. Then for dinner we enjoyed ourselves at the Fish Market in San Mateo. We got a nice table right by the water, and had a yummy meal! Carter ate his entire plate of fish and chips along with a big bowl of ice cream for dessert!

Steve and I shared a spicy tuna roll for an appetizer. Carter's not a big fan of sushi - although he does enjoy the occassional California roll (obviously we don't let our 3 year old eat the raw fish), and he LOVES Miso soup. He actually calls it "cheese soup". Seems he thinks the tofu is cheese. ;)

Anyways, I'm off topic. So, our sushi comes and Carter comments on the "tiny orange grapes" (the tobiko) that topped off the roll. He decided to help himself to it and try some. I thought he's spit it out, but he LOVED it. He said "Mmm - it's filled with salsa!" LOL. He picked off most of it off the entire plateful. What a kid!

Kids!

How do you keep the kids (both real and furry?) occupied on a long Sunday afternoon at home? Waterguns! Carter "washed" the window...and Berkeley observed from inside. I'm sure our little water furbaby would have loved to be in the action though!

Someone eats a lot :P

Berkeley sure is cute...but she eats like a horse! Look how big she got in a month!!!
We had to change her to "diet" cat food!

A Day At The Zoo!

Today we went to the San Francisco Zoo with some of our friends from the Mother's Club. We had a fun time and the weather was GREAT! We had the extra special treat of being able to see the penguins right up close today! We didn't get to touch them (they're bitey! LOL), but we got super close. The morning of fun was followed by a much anticpated ride on the train at the Zoo.

At the Movies!

Here is Carter at the movies yesterday! Tanforan has the $1 movies playing again during the summer, and I decided to take Carter. We had a blast seeing Ice Age 3. He did much better than last summer...and sat through the whole thing, with minimal narration ;)

I told him if he did well, then in a few weeks we'd take him to see Toy Story 3. The kid is Toy Story OBSESSED! :)

(Oh yeah...and don't you just LOVE that all natural smile??!)

One more...

One more...and then that's it for the night! :)

I don't love this layout overall - it was a DT assigment, and I didn't love the product. I adore these pics though. Carter's first time eating raspberries. Could well have been his last. He HATED them! I love these silly pics...especially the last one - looks like he's saying "don't you DARE give me those again"

Memory Lane...

Okay, my last post got me looking at some of my old layouts. These aren't my all time favorites persay...but look at that baby face! :)

An oldie but a goodie...

This is one of my favorite layouts of all time. I actually scrapbooked it about 2 years ago...and it's made from one of my favorite paper lines of all time: Noteworthy by Making Memories. I am so obsessed with the design and colors of these papers, I honestly can't bring myself to use the last teeny bit I have left in my stash!

I used this layout as a challenge over at WeScrap this week. The challenge is to use different shapes on your layout. If you complete this challenge, be sure to come join us and enter the contest - you could win a PRIZE!

Side note...look at this pic of my mini C! So small! He was a late crawler. He didn't start until he was almost 10months. He was partially big and partially lazy! LOL. As a mom, I didn't mind! He's our only baby, so I was happy to keep him that way! This pic is of him doing what we called his "stealth crawl". He used his elbows to navigate his way rather than actually exert the effort to really crawl. Of course it was only a few short weeks before he was RACING on all 4's determinded to get to the world's most precious resource before Mommy stopped him...CAT FOOD.

Summer Vacation is here!

Today is the first official day of summer vacation - no more preschool.

Carter and I had a busy day. We tidied the house a bit, played in the newly assembled sandbox in the yard, met some friends at the park to play, grabbed an ice cream cone, and finally ended up at Lucky's (grocery store) to stock up for dinner.

Here's a snippet of the day from Lucky's...

Carter, fresh and high off his 10minute nap in the car enroute to the store, is full of energy. Upon seeing the display of birthday cakes by the bakery section, he proceeds to start singing "Happy Birthday". Seeing as how we only needed a few things in the produce section, the store wasn't busy, and he wasn't actually singing that loud, I decided to pick my battles and allow him to sing a round or two before shushing him.

After the third round...he got cut off! ;)

A nice older lady ended up behind us in line to pay, and she says to Carter
"I heard you singing - you sing so nicely". He got all proud and started singing again until once again, he was shushed. The lady says to Carter "my, you must be a handful - whatever will your mother do with you". Without a second to think he pipes up "I think she might sell me to my Dad!". (I've never said that before! LOL).

The lady laughed and turned to me and says:
"Lord help you my dear"

San Mateo Fair!

Steve, Carter and I spent today at the county fair! It was a fun day...and SUPER hot!
The highlight of the day - Carter's very first BIG roller coaster. He LOVED it!
