Our Pumpkin!

Goblin Grotto!

The City of San Bruno hosts a (Goblin Grotto) every year for little kids. It's so cute! Little cardboard houses where the kids can Trick Or Treat and play some games for candy. Businesses in the area sponser the houses. We went last night and had a great time!
Carter and his friends Sean and Brooke before the event began (Carter says "Peace Out" LOL)Getting candy! Playing games!
Go fish for candy!
Tomorrow night (Halloween) we're going to his friend Joey's house to Trick Or Treat, and have some pizza for dinner. Should be fun :)

Happy Halloween!!

Aren't these cute??! I whipped these little owls up with my Cricut and filled them with little (non candy) goodies for Carter to give to a few of his friends. I think they turned out super cute!

I can't take credit for the idea though. When I was back in Calgary earlier this month, I visitied one of my favorite scrapbook stores - Scrapbookers Bliss! If you live in or close to Calgary, or ever travel there you MUST check them out. The sweetest store, the nicest staff, and the coolest ideas! I fell in love with their in-store sample and asked to take a pic. Rose, one of the owners, handed the sample to me and told me I could take it with me! How cool is that??! I changed mine up slightly to make it a bit easier to make.

I see on their blog that they're doing these as Make and Takes on Halloween - so if you're in the area stop by and make your own! :)

What a DAY!!!

What a day indeed!

Steve, who has been in Houston this week for a conference, was due back home tonight. A storm in Denver caused him to reroute his flight though, and he got back at 9am. Good for us, but no sleep for him...

Carter hardly slept last night. He was vomiting, and just not feeling well. Therefore, I hardly slept too. Then today, he spiked a super high fever. When I talked to the doctor, they told me his symptoms were making them flag him for H1N1. Grrrrreaaat. Lucky when I talked to his personal doctor they assured us that's not the case - not even the flu. Just a really bad cold. Poor guy though.

Steve and I are now coming down with the cold.

There's been some other drama in my world today, but I'm putting that aside and focusing on the good stuff. 'nuf said!

So, yeah...today was sooooo crappy. The worst day in a looooong time.

BUT THEN....

I logged onto www.wescrap.com super unexpectedly and just checking things out. Over the weekend I did tons of scrapping for their online crop (see some samples below). They had some cool prizes to give away...and you're always hopeful for a prize...even a little one. In the long run though, the real prize is getting inspired and getting stuff done.

NAH! The REAL prize is........

I WON A PINK SLICE!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, all the bad from the day just fell away when I found out I won! I am sooo excited!! In fact, when I responded to the post that I won I was so excited that I couldn't even spell! LOL. It took me almost two minutes to just write "thank you!"

I cannot wait to get it! :)

That being said...Starting in November I am DEFINITELY going to pay it forward with some fun giveaways. I've been lucky this month. So be sure to check back. Some will be scrappy ones, and some for those readers who don't scrap too! (and by the way - for all you non scrappers, a Slice is an electronic scrapbook tool that cuts shapes and letters - waaay cool)

Online Crop!

Mark your calendars and don't miss out! I'm on the DT for this site, and I know how much FUN it's going to be...some great challenges, and prizes!

...and another one!

Carter riding the gondola up Sulfur Mountain last year. He wasn't too sure to begin with, but he thought it was pretty cool after a moment or so. A great view of the mountains around us!

I did this one for the WeScrap Gives Back Challenge. For everyone who completes this LO, WeScrap will give $1 to cancer research. What a great cause!

You can also complete it, and go in for a drawing for a Binderie Punch over at Tara's blog!

Check out the official WeScrap challenge here!

Nice Ride!

Another Layout I did for the online crop at WeScrap! Carter had been asking for a "Big Boy" Bike, so we got him one for his birthday. Here he is with Steve on the inaqural ride (at the Exelixis parking lot - nice and flat). He did pretty well. Has to watch that steering though!

Another LO!

Carter and his very first girlfriend...Brooke. Considering he's only 3, I'd say this is a pretty long term relationship for him! *snort* They've been BFF's for most of the year.

WICKED!

I'm scrapbooking today, and having tons of fun! Steve is off on another business trip tomorrow for a few days, so I'm on my own with Carter. He was sweet enough to give me some creative time on my own today...and it nicely coincides with the big crop over at WeScrap!

I've been anxious to scrapbook these photos from July. We had such a good time at Wicked! I actually have the soundtrack on right now, and am singing away to it!

...and it begins!

We have a FULL social schedule the next 2 weeks - or shall I say, Carter does! Halloween activites and parties galore! It all started today with the Halloween Ice Cream Social the preschool put on.

It was really fun. All the kids wore their costumes, got to pick a little pumpkin to bring home, had ice cream sundaes and made some crafts!

The last pic is Carter with his girlfriend Brooke! Too cute :)
Tomorrow we are off to Lemos Farm - the Pumpkin Patch! Should be fun. If you're a friend on Facebook, I put a few more pics up there. :)

Think Pink!

WeScrap is really promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and has lots of fun challenges going on to coincide with it. This weekend they are hosting the Think Pink crop (see below), and they are also running a Guest Designer Contest as well. I was pretty late in the game, but I jumped in and finished my projects with mere hours to spare!

The contest was to design a layout where the primary color is pink. Pretty tough when most of your projects are boy related. It needed to be designed using a sketch, and was supposed to celebrate women in your life.

I made this layout of a photo of Pasty, Annie, and I (at Carter's 2nd bday party). We all became very good friends through our kids. Carter and I were (and still are!) really sad to move away from them when we left Montreal. Annie gave me this photo in a goodbye card the day we moved. I've been waiting to scrap it for over a year now! What a good opportunity!

We also had to create a card for a friend. It didn't have to be pink...but since I was feeling extra girly with the layout I figured...go all the way! LOVE this stamp sentiment from Rubber Romance!
No big hopes to win the contest - lots of great competition out there, but I hadn't scrapped in a while, so it was fun to sit and play!

Don't miss out!

I want that Slice!!! ;) I'm alone with Carter on Sunday...but Saturday...I'm SCRAPPING!

Frosty...

Carter made his first official snowman today! The weather warmed up considerably today, but heavy wet snow fell for a few hours - perfect for snowmen!

He's a little pathetic looking since Carter had no patience for making bigger snowballs, but overall we did a not bad job. Carter named him Frosty (how original!)
Poor Frosty probably won't make it through tomorrow...he's already melting! Supposed to be up past 20 degrees (70F) by Friday....here's hoping!

I WON!

It pays to visit other blogs and to participate in contests! Last month I was sooo excited to win 3 Copic Markers from Leah's blog, and last week Ally told me I'd won her monthly blog candy - a set of stamps from My Stamp Box!

Thanks a million to both Ally and My Stamp Box! They came in the mail today, and I can't wait to use them. What awesome stamps!
For your chance to win make sure to visit Ally's blog at: http://www.yourmemoriescanada.blogspot.com/

I am also a big fan of her sketch site...totally rocks!:

Finally you can and should check out the AWESOME stamps at My Stamp Box!

...AND since I am a big fan of Paying it Forward, when I get back home I'm going to have a giveaway on my blog too! :)

I just don't get it...

Carter has spent more time on his vacation watching this show - In the Night Garden. He used to love it when we lived in Montreal. Daddy and Carter watched it every night before bed. TOTALLY do not get it though...such a dumb show. They don't even speak real words.

Still loves it though. Iggle Piggle (the blue guy) is his favorite. Nancy and I *almost* broke down and bought him an Iggle Piggle Doll that blinks and plays music at Walmart last week. Seeing this pic I feel kinda bad I didn't break down...

At any rate, Canadian "Treehouse" ROCKS over American "Sprout". No commercials, longer shows, better programming - save this show! LOL. I miss it....

It's stilllllll snowing!

Well, the weather here in Calgary hasn't been any better...in fact, it got worse! Today several centimters fell and actually stayed on the ground. We had to break out the shovels. Carter was in 7th heaven though!
Making snow angels!

Mommy and Carter at the park by the house
Coming back inside to warm up with hot chocolate and a movie. Carter and Nancy!

Cards!

I've been making a lot of cards while I'm in Calgary. My mom has been working on her Christmas cards, so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and make some too! Didn't hurt that Scrapbook Sally is closing (always sad to hear about an LSS closing, but a good time to cash in on sales). I got all my cardstock for 10cents!! Sweet! Wish I could bring more luggage home - I'd stock up!!

I love this one. I made this holiday version, and the cat version below for all occassion - I put diamond glaze over the windows so it looks like glossy panes.

Pretty simple overall, but now I have a few more for my stash at home, and a few more to sell as well. (Sorry for the crappy pics...best I could do here).
Don't forget, if you need a custom card made, or desire a bday card etc let me know. I have TONS of premade cards for sale. I also do custom work for invites, announcements, Christmas and more. Cards generally retail for $3 each or $30 for a dozen. I do have a few that range up to the $5 mark, and a few that are less. I can do custom work within your budget :)
For my Bay Area readers/friends I am planning a November Open House to sell some of my cards! Stay tuned for details :)

It's SNOWING!!!

Can you believe I'm updating? :) Oops! I've been busy...and I'm actually not even at home!

Carter and I are in Calgary hanging out with my parents and Nancy while Steve went on a business trip to Denmark - lucky duck! He's on his way back home, but Carter and I decided to stay a bit longer since this week is also Canadian Thanksgiving.

Not been doing too much while I'm here - visiting, making tons of cards with my mom (pics to come), chillaxing, and playing with Carter. Today was fun, my cousin Colleen and her three girls, along with her mom came down from Edmonton and we all had lunch. I haven't seen them since my wedding over 5 years ago. It was the first time they met Carter too!

Here are a few pics of what Carter enjoys the most while here. It's SUPER cold here, and it even snowed a bit - can you believe it?? Carter hopped right into his snow gear though and made the most of it. Luckily what you see on the ground is the most that fell! brrrrrr....

Nothing like sharing seasons...mowing away the snow!
Catching snowflakes on his tongue! Wow....snow.... :)
Oooh, looked at all the snow I scooped up! (This one is slightly blurry since I was a bit afraid that snowball was coming my way!)
Tomorrow we are off to Banff National Park to celebrate Thanksgiving! Should be lots of fun - the place where we're staying has waterslides and a huge indoor play area with tunnels and climbing things. I'll take some pics :)
Happy Thanksgiving!
