A Visit to the FireHouse

The Pacifica Fire Department was having an Open House today, and we KNEW Carter would want to go. This morning we had a birthday party to go to. We were done there in time (and Carter was still in a good enough mood) that we decided to go catch the very tail end of the event. Carter has a BLAST!

Here he in driving the Engine...

The firefighters gave us a tour of the whole firehouse - then we went to the back where they did a mock rescue.
Then they showed us how to properly use a fire extinguser and safely put out a fire.
After that the kids got to try out the hose. Carter was sooo excited! He tried to knock over two pylons with the spray - and did it. He sort of wanted to use the hose to wash all the cars...but alas, he got denied!

Picking up the pylons for the next kid.
Standing on front of the truck. He looks a little tentative here...and he was. He was worried he wasn't supposed to stand there.
Overall, we had a great time and I think Carter learned a lot about Fire Safety. He still tells us daily that he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. He listened quite intently to everything the firefighters had to say. In fact, there were quite a number of kids that were not very well behaved there, and Carter was soooo annoyed at them when he couldn't hear. (In fact, so was I!)
