This boy is getting spoiled for sure!! Today he is officially 6 - and pretty proud of it! ;)
He started off the day by not waking up until 9:40am! He topped that by heading to the washroom and then getting back INTO bed. He was up and ready to start the day by 10am though. Just in time for Daddy to come home with an extra specia treat for him!
Then it was present time! He got some gifts from Nancy, my mom, and us as well as a few cards and well wishes that had been mailed.
Transformers car and a cute Nemo shirt from my sister - Awesome! (his words)
The best - the dragon playmobile set he'd been lusting after for a while. Also from my sister, and my mom as well. More "awesome". It really was - he played with it for almost 3 hours solid!
Carter saw this cute hat store and wanted to go in. He was quite the model and tried a lot on.
This one is hard to tell...but it was a hotdog!
Then he rode the carousel. We bought tokens for 2 rides. The first time he rode on the upper level (no pics - too hard to take). The second time he decided to ride on the bench. Silly guy. Both Steve and I and the ride operator told him he'd have a better time on an animal, but he insisted this is what he wanted to do.
The ride operator convinced him to at least switch to this seat which rocked a little! LOL
When he got off, she said - why don't you go one more time and ride an animal. So, he did. Sweet! A free ride. He tried out this rabbit, but ultimately switched to the horse.
After that we went to the Mechanical Museum - all really old vintage mechanical games. Most are in working order and cost about a quarter to play. We looked at all of them, and played a few.
I think there was some cheating on this one...but even then they didn't get the top score ;)
Finally, we finished up the day with dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. We've peeked in at a few locations before, but never eaten there. Carter was reallllly excited, so we were glad. I don't think it will be an experience repeated very soon. It's pretty pricey for the budget, but a fun bday treat!
Carter being silly during the thunder/lightning storm. It was definitely the most fun. We got to sit through it 3 times. Very noisy, but fun :)
Silly guy is all into winking lately
Watching the waiters sing to him...and a scoop of ice cream. Side story, they tried to convince us to order this really spectacular looking dessert for him. Tons of people were ordering it. It's a huge chocolate ice cream volcano. It looks inviting and delicious on the card they show you (with no price). I snuck a peek at the price in advance though (thank goodness). It was $15.99!!! Carter was a little bummed we cheaped out. LOL. He enjoyed his 99cent ice cream instead.
Lots of fun and a full weekend for the birthday boy! :)

What a fun and busy birthday for Carter.
