A Day at the San Mateo County Fair

We had a really fun day at the fair!

They had a city bus there - set up as an emergency transport bus. (They had a big exhibit about emergency services/personnel etc at the fair). Carter was SO excited. He has asked and asked to ride on a bus, and bad us - we've never taken him. He was so excited just to get on and see it! LOL

They also had this Vintage Fire Engine there...

Carter practicing his roping skillz...

Trying to milk a cow (a plastic one...but you could actually milk it, and water came out)

This sign totally cracked me up!

At the petting zoo - sooo cute!

Carter and Mommy on the Tilt-a-Whirl

Carter on a very intense ride. He was barely tall enough, but he did make it. Adults were screaming on this ride - it spins in different ways and goes down and up...and it goes FAST! We weren't sure if Carter was going to be okay on it, but he insisited! Mom and Dad were too scared to go! HA! Well, he loved it, and went on three more times.

Funny story - the last time a kid about 15 was sitting next to him. He was looking green by about 20 seconds in. I said to Steve - I sure hope he doesn't puke on Carter. The whole ride this kids hardly held it together. MY kid on the other hand is looking all cool and enjoying the ride and waving. When they got off, the older kid promptly threw up (ewww!). Carter said "I sure didn't have much fun with that boy!" Then he threw his hand on his forhead and said "Oh BROTHER!" when he saw the puke. Silly guy!

Carter on the big Ferris Wheel with Mommy...

A pic from the top!

Mommy and Carter - self portrait...on the ride!

Carter with his hands up all brave on the swinging chairs! Again, everyone else is hanging on for dear life...

On the giant slide...

First seat in the roller coaster!
That's my boy! xo

  1. How much fun was that?!!
I know the feeling - I'm a wimp when it comes to rides but DS loved them.
These pics brought back so many memories for me. What a great family day out for the three of you.
    Days like these are precious.
    Hugs xx
