The end of the Birthday...and a MobiGo giveaway!

Well, our little guy ended his 4th birthday in the same place as he came into the world 4 years ago...in the hospital. Poor little guy! We put him to bed at his usual time last night. Aside from seeming really tired and a bit cranky, he was fine. He fell asleep, but about an hour later he woke up with this terrible cough and couldn't breathe. He was wheezing and coughing sooo much, he threw up. Poor baby! We got out his inhaler and gave him a treatment, cleaned up the bed...and gave him a second treatment. Bad to bed. 15minutes later - repeat (ugh, right down to the puke and new sheets). After the third attack it was obvious he wasn't getting better, so off to the emergency room we went.

He was wide awake, coughing and wheezing for almost 2 hours as we waited for the doctor. Finally, he curled up on Mommy and fell asleep. Of course what happened next? Here comes the doctor! He was OUT! Sooo tired from all the effort from the coughing. We could NOT wake him up. The doctor did his entire exam and he slept. We even had him sitting up and he stayed asleep. Diagnosis - croup with a side of asthma. I thought it was sort of crazy that the dr said he just needed a big dose of prednisone...and he knew that since he'd heard him coughing away for the last 90minutes. Um...I know there were other patients (although it was quiet in the ER last night). But seriously, he knew, and it took a one minute checkover and a dose of liquid meds. The really bad part was waking him up for the meds. He was really really out! We even had him standing up...asleep on his feet. Finally we got it down, and they let us leave. He has a script for the meds for the next 5 days.

Here he is asleep on mommy waiting for the doctor to come...
and finally mommy snuck out and let him sleep alone...her back was SORE! LOL

In other news, I am doing okay. Feeling not too bad after my uterine biopsy this week. It was pretty nasty, and the recovery has been worse than I thought...but getting back on my feet. Waiting for results is stressful too though. Thanks for all the good wishes! What a week! Going to be an expensive week for medical bills! LOL

In other news, one of my favorite sites - the Thrifty Mama is giving away a Vteach MobiGo system this week. I get an extra entry for the blog post! I TOTALLY think Carter deserves to win this after his rough night! Wish us LUCK!!
