Carterism

Carter has come up with his own version swearing. LOL. When something goes badly, he goes:
"Aww...Chalk-a-ma-diddles"

Cracks me up!

Other weekend events..

The rest of the weekend was really busy...here are a few pics!

Sunday morning at the Farmers Market - Carter and Martin Ricard - who is the editor of the San Bruno Patch. (I write a weekly column for the site). Today was the official launch party for the site, so we had to drop by. Carter realllllly likes Martin. It's pretty cute!
Swimming lessons at the San Bruno Pool - only one week left. Here's a few pics. C's doing pretty well overall. Can jump in unassisted, swim a (very) little on his own, and front and back float without support. He is also one of the only kids in his class that will willingly put his head under the water at any time. WTG Carter!

Last week we were down in San Carlos and Carter admired the pumpkin patch that was being set-up and begged to go. We decided for a special treat we'd take him. They have about 8 jumpy houses set up to play in. The price was a little steep at $9 for 30mins, but he fully enjoyed it. If you're looking for some way to wear out your kid...it's an excellent place to go. (and everything was really nice, new, and clean looking!)

Home Depot Kids Club

The first Saturday of every month is Kids Day at Home Depot. You can take your kids in and do a quick (and free!) project with them. We've considered taking Carter for a while now, but since there is some patience and skill involved, we had yet to do so. I saw that this weeks project was a Fireboat. I knew Carter would LOVE it, so we decided to go. In truth he was still a little small (recommended age is 5-12). Daddy had to do quite a bit of work as there was small nails and a lot of hammering involved. They had a good time though, and Carter ended up with his finished project. He was so proud! Home Depot also gives each kid an apron, a pin, a certificate of completion, and stickers for a job well done. Pretty sweet for a free event!
I think Lowes runs a similar program, but you have to pre-register for it. I'll have to check it out.

More random pics...

Here are some pics from when my sister visited in late September - just some family fun and randomness!

Carter and Mommy on the boat to Sausalito
Carter's first time bowling - SeaBowl in Pacificia
 Carter and Mommy cuddles
Our family in Union Square in San Francisco
Our REALLY fat cat Berkeley. She lives to eat plastic alone...she really could care less about food. She's gained a pound for every month we've had her. Yikes! We've switched her to diet food, and ration it...but...
Carter's very first sundae at the Ghiradelli Chocolate Factory in SF. Omg...it was GOOD! I love Steve's impressed look as his son stuffs his face!
A silly shot of Steve I snapped :)
Carter in Old Navy - trying on his Halloween costume - pizza! We got this to take to Auntie Sam and Uncle Brendan's wedding on Halloween night. Easy to pop on over his fancy clothes!

Random Pics...

It's been super nice here the last few days...loving the hot weather! Here's a little pic of the ocean view for all you readers stuck in crappy weather! ;P Enjoy!
Carter started up at Soccer...he LOVES it. Here he is avidly listening to the teacher...
Running - working on following directions!
Got a ball - learning the #1 rule: NO HANDS! (He did pretty well overall with it)
 Learning to dribble the ball

Taking a break - and looking cute!

In other news...while Nancy was here, we went to Laurel Street Arts in San Carlos and tried our hand at glass fusing. VERY fun, and very addictive. Nancy shot this pic of me trying to design my very first piece. I went for trees - in all 4 seasons. It looks pretty good now it's fired - I'll take a pic and post it soon.
Carter has had a bedmate this week. I think little Miss Berkeley is missing Nancy (who let her sleep in her bed every night - Steve and I do not). So, every night she climbs up the ladder with Carter and settles down at his feet. A few times she's spent the whole night in there! Carter loves it, and surprisingly (after telling her a few stories) he settles down and goes right to sleep. I tried to take a pic of the two of them sleeping, but the flash woke kitty up...
I'll post some more pics soon!

One more...

This is a Carterism passed from his teacher at school.

They were talking this week about different ways to say hello at preschool. Carter piped up and said you could say hello in French too. The teacher asked, how do you say hello in French?

Carter said - Gezundheigt! (sp?)
LOL - too funny.
