Preschool Picnic

It's hard to believe Carter's first year of preschool is over. He's really changed a lot this year. It's a happy sad feeling all at once! Yesterday was his last day of school, and he came out of the class and announced "I'm a BIG EXPLORER now!". His preschool is split between the "Little Learners" who are in the younger class, and the "Big Explorers" - who all graduated to kingergarteners yesterday. (Next year when Carter does that I will sob I'm sure!) LOL

So, today was the last day - and we had a picnic. It was the perfect day. Another hot and sunny day (you can tell just how sunny from the pics!). The parents all came, the kids played at the park and we had pizza and popscicles for lunch. A very fun day!

Carter is going to miss his main three teachers this year, so I even took opportunity to snap a pic of him with each of them - Tracey, Lara, and Shirley. They are the best! :)

Ryder Park!

The crazy San Francisco summer weather has been having it's ups and downs all week. Several days it was cold, windy, and foggy. Other days it's hot and sunny. Last Monday was one of the hot days, and I took Carter down to Ryder Park in San Mateo for a run through the sprinklers and a play in the park. It was a great day - and even a few friends joined us!

That Darn Cat!

Berkeley sure is lucky she's cute...because she had a BAD week this week. Here is one of the things she's in the doghouse (um, cathouse? LOL) about. My brand new shower curtain...yup, those are bite marks. GRRR!

70th Annual Posy Parade!

Carter and I marched (well, Carter rode in the wagon) at San Bruno's Posy Parade today. I helped design and build the float for the Mother's Club - and the float won first place in it's division! Woohoo!

Carter and I also decorated the wagon with flowers and vines, and a hula skirt from the dollar store to look like grass. I was really suprised to be handed a ticket saying we won SECOND place for our decorating! We even got a trophy!

As we walked the parade, they video it for TV. They stopped us as we walked by, and the commentator tried to do a little interview with Sean and Carter. Sean froze, and Carter looked dazed! LOL. He finally got a nod out of Carter after asking if he was having fun. LOL.

Teacher Gifts!

This is what Carter's Preschool Teachers are getting for their end of the year gifts! Altered notebooks and little post-it note holders both made with my all-time favorite line from Cosmo Cricket - Early Bird! Inside the matching cards they are all also getting a GC to our local mall.

Carter is pretty excited to hand them out on Thursday - his last day of school. I hope they like them! :)
